This boat trip was THE highlight of our trip to Nova Scotia! Jason is so warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable - his excitement and love for his work is genuine and made us excited too! The sights were absolutely awesome. We always felt safe and in good hands. I’d give this 20stars if I could!

Jason's boat excursion was an excellent 2 hour trip that was different than the typical boat trip. The area is beautiful and he was very knowledgeable about the interesting geographical formations as well as the wildlife. We highly recommend it and it was also comfortable, even for my 88 year mother and me with an injured leg. We found it easy to rent a car for the day from Halifax and it was less than an 90 minute drive. Note to cruisers: there is a rental car place in the big hotel right at the port. Jason was also flexible and after we requested, he was able to adjust the start time to accomodate our time frame.

Our family had an amazing time! Jason is a fantastic and friendly host and an amazing educator. He kept my kids really intrigued with information about the animals, shells and islands. We stopped at two different islands which makes for a great experience. We went by an island absolutely packed with seals and then another teaming with birds. After all of that, we had snacks and drinks back at the retreat. Jason and his family are all so welcoming and I highly recommend this as a great activity while in Lunenburg!

An amazing boat tour with Jason and his father! Being amongst the rocky landscape and powerful waters was so special and a memory with my children that I will forever cherish. That alone was lovely. We saw a different species of seagulls than we’re used to seeing in Toronto, the cousin of a puffin, playful seals, and two eagle lovebirds. Jason and his dad were so kind and tender with the children as well, explaining things in an age appropriate way. Wish we could do this boat tour again. Thank you so much!

Jason's zodiac experience was the highlight of our trip to Nova Scotia. We were looking for something less touristy and which would showcase the beauty of this vast coastline - and this was just it. Jason is very knowledgeable regarding local flora and fauna (and geology to boot) and we were able to get up close to various birds of prey and seals. We stopped at two uninhabited islands and saw nature's beauty at its best. There were various personalized touches to the tour that made this 100% worthwhile. Jason is a fantastic tour guide, an incredibly knowledgeable person, one of the most interesting men I’ve met, and overall just wonderful to be around. We all had such a lovely time on the tour and could spend hours more talking to and learning from Jason. If you’re visiting Halifax, the drive out to Lunenburg is a must, it’s an amazing town and this excursion was the highlight of our trip. Thanks again Jason!

The tour with Jason has been the highlight of our trip. His knowledge combined with his obvious passion for the waters and marine life made the 2 hour tour seem like 15 minutes. We were able to see seals, bald eagles, many types of sea birds as well as hop off and explore several islands. Thank you Jason!!

We cannot thank Jason and the Lunenburg Retreat enough. This experience is a must if you are visiting Halifax. A 45 min drive that is totally worth it. Jason was extremely knowledgeable a truly naturalist of Lunenburg. It was a mild and foggy morning but still spectacular we’ve got the opportunity to sightseeing seals, birds, rocks and lichen in a little island, the foggy view of the Atlantic and much more. We have already fulfilled our day and the treats and chat with Jason were the cherry of the cake. We highly recommend this priceless and amazing ride on the zodiac. Thanks Jason we’ll see you again!

This was an amazing Zodiac watercraft tour of the South Shore of Nova Scotia! It was a cold day, but Jason prepared his guests by telling us how to dress. He made sure that safety was first by providing life jackets and a review of safety procedures on board before we left the dock. Jason took us out to the ocean, and into calmer waters where we saw lots of seals playing, interesting birds, and even a green crab trap that he pulled up to show us. Great job!

Jason was not only extremely knowledgeable but was also really personable, which made the whole experience that much better. absolutely amazing views of the coast and it was so cool to see seals up close. Jason will also change the expedition on the fly in order to give you the best experience possible. A must see if you make the trip to Lunenburg!
